ACCOMMODATION SERVICES

SASUM provides accommodation for students living away from home, prioritizing those with the greatest financial need. It ensures a welcoming environment in university residences, aiming to offer comfortable and functional spaces while helping resident students achieve academic success and integrate effectively into university life.

SASUM’s university residences have a total capacity of 1,399 beds: 845 in Braga and 554 in Guimarães. This capacity consists primarily of 588 double rooms and 113 single rooms, supplemented by 4 beds in 2 apartments and 102 beds in dormitories intended for short-term stays.

The opening of the Fábrica Confiança Residence in Braga is scheduled for the 2026/2027 academic year, adding 786 beds to the available housing.

The university residences are primarily intended for students enrolled at the University of Minho who live away from home, as well as students participating in mobility programs; priority is given to scholarship recipients within the higher education social support system.

Subject to availability, accommodation may also be provided to students from other higher education institutions, as well as staff, faculty, and researchers living away from their primary place of residence.
